Project Brief
KidsCommute was a user interface project. It was created to help parents feel less anxious when their children ride public transit alone. As cities continue to grow it is crucial for the health of the planet and its inhabitants to increase public transit ridership. This application aims to unlock joy for people using public transportation and help parents and children feel safe riding their local transit system.
The Problem
Far Too Many Apps
Currently there are far too many applications which a person needs in order to make a seamless journey of purchasing tickets, checking schedules, viewing the current capacity of the bus or train and keeping track of one’s child. This app allows the user parent to easily find other parents whose children are riding similar bus or train routes so their children can ride together.
The research for this project included user personas, an empathy map, and impact/effort matrix.
